Born in 1962 in Frankfurt a.M., I have already photographed as a teenager. I made my first serious attempts with the purchase of a Canon AE 1-P. I quickly switched to slide film, which I have remained true to for a long time. I switched to digital photography only in 2005 when the quality of the sensors reached a level that came close to the analog media. In the meantime, my main camera is a Canon R5, which I still use with the EF series lenses.

Both at work and in my private life, I travel regularly and take advantage of the opportunities to take photos. From my self-perception, I would therefore call myself a travel photographer, although I interpret the genre quite broadly. From landscape to wildlife photography to urban motifs my interest spreads.

Geboren 1962 in Frankfurt a.M. habe ich bereits als Jugendlicher fotografiert. Erste ernsthafte Ansätze machte ich mit dem Kauf einer Canon AE 1-P. Schnell bin ich damals auf die Verwendung von Diafilm gewechselt, dem ich auch lange treu geblieben bin. Den Wechsel auf digitale Fotografie habe ich erst 2005 vollzogen als die Qualität der Sensoren ein Niveau erreicht hatte, dass an die analogen Medien heran kam. Mittlerweile ist meine Hauptkamera eine Canon R5, die ich aber noch mit den Objektiver der EF-Serie nutze.

Beruflich wie privat bin ich regelmäßig auf Reisen und nutze die Gelegenheiten zum fotografieren. Von meinem Selbstverständnis her würde ich mich deshalb als Reisefotograf bezeichnen, wobei ich das Genre recht weit interpretiere. Von Landschafts-, über Tierfotografie bis hin zu städtischen Motiven spannt sich mein Interesse.
