Cascata de Tret

Before I return to postings of trips from this year, I have some leftovers from a week off we've had in Northern Italy last year.
We stayed in a small village in the northern part of Trentino. The next bigger village that you might find on a map is Fondo. The small Canyon Burrone nearby leads to an artificial lake. But before you reach that section you will pass this beautiful water mill - a leftover from times when water was the key source of energy.
Passing the artificial lake and continuing for a few kilometers you come to another small group of houses, where you leave the main street to come to the village of Tret. There is a small restaurant at the end of the road where you can have a drink before you continue. If you're by car, you find a limited number of parking lots as well.
Now follow the signs to the Cascata de Tret. As we are near the border to South Tyrol where the main language is still German, this waterfall is also known as Felixer Wasserfall. This is one of the many waterfalls you have in this area, but with a height of 75 meter, it's one of the biggest.
The path will lead you to an overview from where you can see the waterfall, but there are also stairs that lead you down to the base of the fall. You can continue walking on paths that are following the river, but we decided to turn around and have a late lunch at the restaurant mentioned above.
The whole trip is very easy and a nice way to spend half a day or so.
