Biennale di Venezia 2017
First published in 2018
I'm still working down the backlog of files from some short trips last year. Here are some pictures from an event end of September.
We went to Venice to visit the Biennale. This is an International Art Exhibition that takes place every second year since 1895. Most pieces of art can be found within two dedicated places named Arsenale and Giardini, but there are exhibitions in a lot of other places too.
Some of them you can enter free of charge, but if you are interested in art you have to buy a ticket and visit at least one of the central exhibitions. It's difficult to recommend one of the two. Arsenale has some huge rooms with quite a variety of different artists. Giardini on the other hand hosts different buildings mostly dedicated to artists of a single country.
The pictures here can only show a very, very small glimpse of what to find. Expect to spend most of the day in each of the two locations.
