Taipei 101

When you're in Taipei, it's hard to miss the view of Taipei 101, once the tallest skyscraper in the world and today still ranking #10.
One of the best views you can get is by climbing Elephant Mountain (or Xiangshan in Chinese, which means more or less the same).
It's near the Xiangshan MTR station, but be prepared to climb quite some stairs before you can get a nice view. Another issue you will have to handle is the huge number of people at the viewpoints. As it is so easy to reach it's a very popular sunset location for locals and for foreigners, too.
While you can get the typical skyline photos from Elephant Mountain, you're not limited to that place if you want to take pictures of Taipei 101. Walking the streets and looking for interesting angles, you might get away with something much more creative than the usual postcard picture.
