Cueva de los Verdes - Lanzarote

Cueva de los Verdes - Lanzarote - Spain

First published in 2014

There are not so many tourist spots on Lanzarote and most people prefer to stay at the beach anyhow. But it’s worthwhile to rent a car for a day or two and take a look around. Besides the legacy of Cesar Manrique and the Timanfaya National Park, Cueva de los Verdes was one of the places we visited last autumn.

Cueva de los Verdes is a huge lava tube that is partly accessible to the public. Unfortunately, you have to join a group and I was already wondering if I should return the tripod to the car - luckily I didn’t. The guide talked quite a lot and didn’t really care if everybody was near him. So it was quite easy to stay behind or even walk ahead. I’m not sure if every guide is that relaxed and how it looks like if it is high season. But give it a try.
