Graffiti in Dresden New Town
First published in 2016
Most touristic highlights of Dresden are west of the river Elbe in the so-called old town. So it's no wonder that the mass of tourists hardly crosses the river to see the "Goldene Reiter", a statue of King August II.
East of the river is the so-called New Town. They have historic buildings there as well, but not everything is as polished as in the old town. This is a place where people of various origins live - a truly multicultural part of Dresden. In quite some places here, you can find nice murals like the ones you can see here.
Unfortunately, the respect of other "artists" is very limited - something Dresden has in common with many other places in Germany. So after a while, a lot of the nicer pictures are cluttered with tags from others.
