Alcazar and Cathedral - Seville
Since we did not buy tickets for the Royal Palace on the Internet, we have to wait in the long queue. This does not move continuously but rather jerkily. When we are further ahead, we see that there is a kind of block dispatch. They always let about a dozen people to the ticket office. This means that the visitors are distributed quite quickly within the area.
In front of us is a group of Italians and we get into a conversation with a woman who speaks good German. It goes fairly quickly and soon we are inside. But in summer you better make sure that you buy your tickets in advance.
We are over 4 hours on the site. Besides the different buildings, there is also a huge garden to admire. To sum it up - it is just great. The rooms, the gardens, everything. Especially the ceilings are remarkable.
At some point, we decide that it is enough and leave the Alcázar.
Nearby is the entrance to the cathedral and as the queue is not that long, we change our plans and go straight in.
Big and snobbish. Here it is only about showing how much money and power the catholic church had. Seeing all the silver we immediately think of the mines of Potosi in Bolivia.
Nicer than the main hall are the smaller rooms that can be reached through separate doors at the front of the cathedral.
In the main hall, there is also the tomb of Christopher Columbus. Of course, this is one of the most popular photo spots and usually, there is always a small queue in front of the sarcophagus.
